Meaning: Gentle and not harmful in effect.

Synonyms: Tender, warm hearted, amiable, kind.

Antonyms: Hostile, hurtful.

Usage:
1) Since I meant no harm with my words, I beg you to forgive my benign statement.
2) The medicine is benign in its effects and will cause you no harm.
3) Because the new tax laws were voted in at the last moment, we can assume their effects will not be nearly as benign as leaders.
