Meaning: Provoke or annoy (something) so as to stimulate action

Usage:
1) The purpose of the medication is to goad the body into producing its own disease-fighting antibodies.
2) During lunch in the cafeteria today, my rival tried to goad me into a fight so I would get suspended from school.
3) If someone is trying to goad you into a verbal conflict, the best you can do is simply walk away from that person.
